Assistance for Taxpayers with Disabilities or Limited English Proficiency

If you are a taxpayer with a disability who needs a reasonable accommodation, or if you have limited English proficiency and require language assistance, let the IRS employee you are working with know about your need for assistance. Additionally, if you are interacting with a volunteer or staff member at a Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) site, inform them about your requirements for reasonable accommodations or language assistance.

We encourage you to collaborate with our employees, as well as volunteers or staff members in our assisted programs, for help obtaining reasonable accommodations or language assistance.

For additional questions about receiving assistance, you can contact the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Civil Rights Unit by emailing:
edi.civil.rights.division@irs.gov.

Note: This email is not for tax-related inquiries. If you need help resolving tax issues, contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service at:
877-777-4778 or visit the Taxpayer Advocate webpage.

At Margolies Law Office, we understand the challenges many citizens face. That’s why our Dallas IRS Attorney offers free online consultations to individuals with disabilities.
